Creating the Faith@Home Kits: Celebrate Pentecost
We hope that you enjoy the experience of creating a kit for children and youth who will most certainly appreciate your creative touches and care!
A comment about printing:  We like colour printing and these files will be great if they are printed in colour, and they also work to be printed in black and white (save your budget for something else!)  We wanted to make it as simple as possible for you.  The PDF files are ready to print and we tell you a couple of things with each file.
  • Orientation – the files are either LANDSCAPE or PORTRAIT, make sure you specify which orientation when you go to print.
  • Some of the files are a full 8.5 x 11 size (letter size paper).  We have suggested where we think you might be able to print two files, one on each side.
  • Some files are 2 up or 4 up which means when you go to print it on letter size paper, there are two (2up) or four (4 up) copies of the file on each page.  You will need to cut them in half (down to 8.5 x 5.5 inches) or into four (down to 4.25 x 5.5 inches).
  • We suggest using regular paper for everything except for some particular items (which we have noted below)
A comment about supplies:  The supplies that we are suggesting might be found in CE cupboards everywhere or are easily located.  We are assuming that families have basic art supplies (scissors, felt pens or pencil crayons, crayons, tape…)  You may want to include some of the basic art supplies if you feel it is necessary.
WE SUGGEST THAT YOU INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN EACH KIT
  • Print: Celebrate Pentecost Family Ritual – a suggested outline for a celebration of Pentecost in the household (Portrait)  Click HERE for the file.
  • Print: Celebrate Pentecost Tell the Story – this sheet has the story, Acts 2:1-15, and some video suggestions for those families with access to the internet (Portrait)  Click HERE for the file.
Printing Suggestions:  These files could be printed on a letter size piece of paper with the ritual on
one side and the story on the other.
  • Print: Celebrate Pentecost Cake Recipes – simple recipes that do not use expensive ingredients to celebrate the birthday of the church. Alternatively, perhaps you want to include a simple cake mix with your kit.  Don’t forget to put a few birthday candles in the kit! (Landscape, 2 up)  Click HERE for the file.
  • Print: Mad-Lib Pentecost – another way to share the story and have some fun being creative!  (Landscape, 2 up) Click HERE for the file
ACTIVITIES AND RITUALS

And the fun continues – out of the list below, choose the activities and rituals that best suit the children and youth in your community.  We feel confident that the activities will be appropriate for all ages and that children and youth and even adults will add their own creative spin to them!  Add your own ideas as you want to!
