Nurturing Wonder in Creation with Leah Kostamo Wednesday, June 17 2020 6:30pm – 8:30pm This summer will be unique. We have faced many changes and we know that our families will be staying in place more so than in summers past. Join us for a discussion led by Leah Kostamo focused on nurturing wonder in creation. We will root our conversation in our biblical story, a young person’s ability to wonder, and spend time discussing how to support all families in exploring creation this summer. Free, Registration required.
Leah Kostamo is the author of Planted: a Story of Creation, Calling and Community. She is Co-founder of A Rocha Canada, a Christian conservation organization that shows God’s love for all creation. Together with her husband she started the first Christian environmental center in Canada, which over the past 17 years has welcomed thousands of visitors and interns who have rolled up their sleeves to grow organic vegetables, restore salmon streams and inspire school children. Margaret Atwood, writing in Sojourners, said of Leah and her A Rocha colleagues, “If all Christians were like them, ours would be a radically different world.”
Leah makes her home in the Little Campbell Watershed on the unceded land of the Semiamhoo First Nation and shares life with five other families (and a myriad of chickens) on Kingfisher Farm.
